What is PEERS® ?
The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) is an evidence-based social skills treatment program for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, and other social challenges.
Our PEERS program provides social skills interventions for young adults motivated to improve their ability to make and keep friends and/or develop romantic relationships. Young adults attend 16 weekly 1.5 hour in-person sessions and their social coach (usually a parent, sibling, support worker, or other caregiver) attend 16 weekly group telehealth sessions for 1.5 hours.

Young adult groups include:
Didactic lessons
Role play demonstrations
Group socialisation activities, including role play activities to practice social skills
Each session is accompanied by homework assignments and practice suggestions designed to reinforce the group’s understanding of the skills learned
Social coach groups include:
Didactic lessons
Group discussions and review of young adult’s homework
Learn ways to assist the young adult with making and keeping friends and/or dating

Anyone aged 18-35 with social challenges (can have a diagnosis of ASD, anxiety, depression or disorder impacting social function)
Anyone who is able to consistently attend the program
Note: young adult must be interested in attending the program and must agree to participate voluntarily in the program
